About Flow

Florencia "Flow" Mariona was born and raised in Mar del Plata, the biggest Beach City in Argentina. She is an Industrial Designer, graduated in 2004 from the Mar del Plata National University, Architecture & Design College. Flow has an extensive artistic training; her parents encouraged her to take art classes ever since she was a little girl, since they noticed she was always experimenting, in need to create. Her favorite art related memory is from when she was just learning how to walk (this is the only thing she can remember from back then), and she would go around with her grandpa collecting little branches and sticks and colorful leaves, which they would use to build "houses". They would spend hours putting it all together, immerse in their own world. Her family says she has always been mysterious and quiet, one never knew what she was doing, but it always had to do with art, and creating, and exploring, and inventing. Flow comes from an artistic family; her mother spent her youth days dancing ballet, while her father would perform with his folklore band, singing and playing guitar. Flow's older sister is the lead singer and guitar player of Metamorfica, an Argentinean Indie Rock band, and her younger sister is a photographer, amateur drummer and yoga instructor. Music and nature have always been a big part of her life; raised in a surf city she spent most of her days at the beach, loving the colors of the sunrise, the sunset, the ocean, absorbing it all. Throughout the years, Flow continued to learn several drawing & painting techniques, learning from some of the most influential artists in the state.
Her style is unique; she combines photography, freehand drawing and digital design tools to create original, fresh, rich pieces.
